It's great fun and the first app I bought on my iPad2!
My 18mth old Daughter absolutely loves playing the keyboard (switch to dual keyboard display, so that just about anything on-screen plays a note) and the drums (again, drum machines are best so that any part of the screen makes a noise)...
The demo track that comes with it shows what really COULD be done if you put your mind to it, and it really is very impressive. Not just for an iPad, it's impressive full-stop.

Same experience here, in five minutes we - ages 5 - 44 - managed to take a snatched piece of recorded voice and turn it into a lot of fun. Rocking out on the guitar was exhausting.

you should also check out the NanoStudio - alot more techie, but great fun nonetheless.
If you think that Garageband is good, take a step up to Logic (express or studio)...... that's when the fun really starts. Sadly a LOT more expensive and pro.
But GB is a great toy to start off with - just on ipad/phone, you don't get as many sounds from the Apple Loop expansion packs (nearly 40-odd gig come with Logic)

Yeh nice none Markus
I've got a few actually but tend to use em on my hardware - I don't find the screen that responsive. Certainly not for audio scrubbing....
But @ $0.99, who gives a ****!!
