Something similar happened to me.

If you have the Kaspersky disc, try re-installing the programme.
This worked for me.

Cheers,
Mouser.

No don't uninstall. I'm pretty sure I didn't.

Put the disc in and follow the instructions.

Let's know how you get on.

Cheers,
Mouser.

Or phone their helpline 0871 789 1635 as you've already paid for the service.

Just download the latest installer from the Kaspersky website and install over the top of your current one.
Have to agree if its the internet security package (23 quid for 3 pc's) then its much more than just an anti virus software (firewall, malware, phishing, banner ware etc), and you wont get a good "free" one off the internet (thats not been hacked )

Not had any issues with Kaspersky on this pc, needed to reinstall on my laptop though

Took Kaspersky off my laptop and desktop, had it free for a year through Barclays internet banking and could have probably got the licence renewed however I really glad I did. My PCs are working properly again and not grinding to a halt every time I boot them up. Now using M$ Security Essentials, seems to be doing everything well including blowing away a virus I recently picked up without any fuss. Also found a few things that had gone un-noticed as far as Kaspersky was concerned on the first scan.

Kaspersky = Resource hog
