Question Ad Aware running in background question

I find Ad Aware quite useful as a reassurance tool every now and again but it insists on running in background which eats up the little memory I have on my old PC.

So how do I stop it running in background? If I right click the icon it simply ignores the "unpin on start menu" command and if I go into Task Manager it will only go away if I use the "end process" command about 3 or 4 times, the bloody thing keeps coming back. This is the AAWServices.exe. and something similar. I get fed up with doing this so is there some other way?

I do use that as well and they seem to pick up different things. And Kaspersky! I'm a bit paranoid about bugs and things as I work completely on my own and cannot afford to have my PC down with some stupid virus or unwanted software slowing things up. dl
