Default Moto Xoom

Anyone got any info on the release dates?

Been waiting and waiting. I dont want to pre-order one as I dont want to get messed about - would rather wait till I know they are 100% in stock not "perhaps sometime in the middle of April, or maybe the end of April / Early Spring" type deal where I end up waiting for weeks.

I keep checking google every other day but so far only Dicksons seem to have an actual date - which is the 9/4/11.

I would like to get the 3G version too - so its looking like Carphone Whorehouse might be the option... but again no date...

You could get one shipped from the US, providing it's unlocked (no idea if it is or not), as they are on sale over here now from the looks of it. Pretty sure I've seen one of the chaps in the office using one.

Looks like BestBuy.co.uk is also offering the 3G version as well.

Yes they have been out in the us for a few weeks now. I can get one from the US for about £500 ish, but might be stuck if it goes wrong.. so waiting for a UK version. DSG are still saying 9/4/11 so we will have to wait and see....

Why not just get an iPad, I can't see any reason to buy a copy.

Dont like the OS and dont like the fact it does not have flash. Flash is a major thing to me as a lot of sites I use need flash.

I dont mind apple, I have an ipod, but for this it needs to be a do all product. I dont care about apps.

As such, the xoom is the one I think.

There is also the new Asus i5 12 inch tablet out soon, but its expensive and it looks like it will be very heavy.

I like the look of the Asus Eee Transformer, bridges the gap between netbook and tablet well.

Yeah had a quick look at that. Looks good, and battery life is with the keyboard attached. But not sure about it as a stand alone tablet. Looks very chunky and not seen the weight but it looks like it will be heavy.

Looking at the specs the Asus is 50 grams lighter, but slightly bigger than the Xoom. Looks like you can't put a sim in the Asus, but it is cheaper. Xoom has better front camera and a flash, can't see a mention of a flash on the Asus.
