Default Wireless connection to TV -Mac ?

Right nerds, get your thinking caps on

Client needs the following:

Flat screen TV wall mounted.
Cables chased down the wall to power etc all tidy.
Wirelessly send powerpoint/keynote presentations to the TV from Macs.

May use the TV as movie projector at some point so then the Apple TV would be ideal but right now the key objective is to be able to send wirelessly presentations etc to the TV.

Now apart from wall hanging a mac mini behind the TV and using a wireless keyboard or VNC/iphones to control the output with a short HDMI cable from mac to TV, I am stuck on ideas

Go with the Apple TV, and if he has an iPhone/iPad that's the remote.

Actually I don't think Keynote has been updated for Airplay yet.

Problem is Jack, this needs to play presentations that may not always be in keynote. They may want to send files, output etc that is the stuff you can usually have when you connect a laptop direct to the TV VGA style.

No bright ideas people ?

My idea so far, although a bit clunky is to use the following:

Flatscreen TV wall mounted
Cables in trunking down the wall into skirting where power is located
Mac mini wall mounted either behind TV if space allows or next to TV using this
http://h-sq.com/products/minimount/
HDMI cable from MM to TV

Remote operation using a combination of wireless keyboard/mouse and/or iphone/ipad . Also ability to use chicken VNC from other macs

That way you get a fully functioning mac that has the ability to present powerpoint, keynote, websites etc but also can show videos, movies, photos etc with a Plex skin or Front Row

Aside from that little setup I cant seem to find another more elegant solution

That would be great, screen sharing is built into OSX so that's easy.

You can find the screensharing app here:
/System/Library/CoreServices/

It's called: "Screen Sharing.app"

Why they hide it away I don't know.

It is a shame that there is no other more elegant offering on the market for wireless connectivity ..yet . I assume someone somewhere is working on it

Thanks Markus, god knows why they hide that little gem

You shouldn't really need to find it, if you enable Screen Sharing then that machine will show in Finder with a Share Screen button.
