iPad or just i-Sad
I saw two people walking about with iPads tapping away whilst walking around town and just how sad and nerdy did it look - VERY.
I am sure that 20 or so years ago people felt the same way about mobile phone users but the thing is the iPad is considerably bigger and after all do you really need to use one wilst literally on the move.
I am sure the same can be said of all tablets pc and macs.

iCocks I think is the technical term used in London village.
One rung below the tards who have massive bluetooth earpieces in.
They are the same sorts who had mobile phones clipped to their belts 10 years ago

Just come back from my Honeymoon and witnessed two people round the pool with ipads. Both were holding them in such a fashion that they were making sure the people around them knew what they were using. I-*****

Don't really get the kindle thing either tbh.
I don't hold my book in such a way i show everyone what i'm reading. It's a similar thing with smart phones. (Not all) people with theses app filled phones insist on holding them up high and pretend to be doing something really important and every now and again have a quick glimpse around to see who is admiring them
Like i say, it's not everyone but for many it's just a way of saying "look at me"

It's not the device it's the sort of person who wants to do that and the iPad is just the current 'must have' accessory.

I don't mean whilst relaxing by the pool,I'm talking about walking down a high street. You don't tend to see people walking down the high st with a laptop (although seen a few netbooks).

Its a bit like that Jake on F1 walking about with one in his hand which he never used anyway.
I would find it very irritating to have to carry one about and I certainly could not see a need for instant access to the net at every second of the day. I realise of course that it might be useful for someone while working.
Its like mobile phones, I also can't be bothered to carry mine about, it stays in the car for emergency use only. I dont need to be contacted every second. Life always worked well enough before they were invented. Once again of course people often need to be contacted at short notice while working.
I enjoy my home computer which I can use when I want and its sits on the desk quite happily.

Well I aim to get the new one V2 when it comes out in April but would I use it walking down a street, no chance. As someone mentioned I find it hard enough to text and walk on my iphone
I cant see the reason for using it whilst walking except for one reason and that would be the google maps and navigating
Aside from that , then I think it is a case of look at me !!

They're been heavily used in tv as my wife pointed out.
They're On daybreak , this morning and some other craP she watches.
Just so they can read twitter replies

I've had an iPad a while now and I love it, wouldn't dream of walking down the high street with it though, have witnessed people mugged for their phones etc never mind one of these, I also don't know what you could do on it while walking, seems a little silly to me.

I've just got a smart phone, HTC Desire, and I'll admit to holding it differently to an ordinary mobile. I wouldn't say it's 'look at me', it's more 'WTF does this thing do'

I used to do that
If you could fit a NEC G9 in your pocket, it'll look like you are permanently aroused (and have bent todger syndrome).
*don;t have an ipad, had a play with my mates and can't see the point other than it being a glorified netbook.
