Who uses iphoto for organising photos?
Currently on iphoto 11, and just want some advice on what people do. Coming from a pc world to a mac, I have all my digital pictures in folders with date then event. i.e. 20101023-someones party
When I import them into iphoto 11 it keeps the same name, but i am just wondering if this is really the best way, and after suggestions/ideas on what other people do.
Is it worth having just one album with the year 2008, 2009 etc, and then tag photos inside that album with the relevant event? or can i have album with the year, then sub albums underneath it?? or something else?
advice please thanks

I prefer to keep mine in separate folder names ie. Silverstone 23-11-10.
I don't sort them into years.
I guess it's how you view them in Iphoto at the end of the day that counts.
I use Aperture.

I have smart albums for years, very easy to create and quite useful, especially when synced to my iPhone. Auto created events keep everything pretty well organised.
