Set up mac address filtering. Enter the mac address of the devices you want to be able to use your network into your router then nothing else can use it.
Ok, there are dodgy applications that can overcome this but this, with the fact that your wireless network will not be seen by that many people, and you have fairly good protection.

two different things being answered here - access to the router and access to the wireless network -- both need securing
1) secure the access to your router, it will (usually) come with a default admin username and password (often admin/password) – accessible from the management web interface i.e. http://192.168.0.1
2) make sure you do not have remote management turned on – this will expose the management web interface to 10 billion internet users (4 billion of whom live in China – and will hack your router if they find it, which is easy)
3) then you have to secure the actual wireless signal – the easiest is MAC address filtering - or more advanced use WEP/WPA
