Default Mac's and DTP's

I've been conscripted / press ganged into producing a newsletter for 1 of the organizations I belong to.

Are there any good free / open source DTP's for the mac available.

Graphic software I'm sorted on, but this side of things is a first for me and a little lost.

I've got Open office installed and PS.

Cheers

Just get iWorks/Pages - by far the cheapest ( & therefore the best, imho) package....

I use it all the time for handouts, newsletters, assignment briefs etc..... fantastic bit of kit

You could have a look at Scribus as it's open source. Never used it myself though.

I'm an ex-typsetter and manual writer so I'd always say QuarkXPress or Adobe InDesign are the apps to go for, but not exactly value for money when knocking up a newsletter. Hmm, you could show those who conscripted you into this how much those two apps cost and explain you'd need them to do a good job, could make them rethink it
