Just found this

What was your worst one?
For me it was probably Dead Space on the 360, i am man enough to admit that while the game was amazing, i could not handle it in the dark with the surround sound on, it just freaked me out
It is not so bad when you consider that my usually co-op buddy never even made it past the 3rd level as he pusscaked out
Just picked up Dead Space for the PC (its cheap on steam for today only)

Silent Hill games always freaked me out due to the sound on my home cinema as you keep hearing footsteps and people moving near you plus unlike a film its your choice as to when and if you turn a corner

My all time scariest games its old Silent Hill and The Thing on PS2,but last time i play on brother PS3 Siren: Blood Curse and Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly(this game i play on PS2),try these games
Dead Space is good for spooks. Agree with Silent Hill being a bit freaky.
The first time you come up against a Bloodsucker in STALKER is a brown trousers moment. The Ravenholm level of Half Life 2 is memorable for shocks.
I've been told that the Penumbra series is quite scary but its more of a point and click than a fast paced FPS.
FEAR is kinda scary but wasn't mega impressed with it.

There was that one time in F.E.A.R that had me jumping off the keyboard... when you come to a ladder and turn around to go down.... and that girl is stood right THERE in front of you.
Had me squealing like a stuck pig (or like that bloke in the video

Would you believe i had never played the original FEAR, i bought FEAR 2 and thought it was crap, 2 weeks back i picked up "FEAR Files" for the 360 from my local games shop, and i thought it was pretty poor, one of my staff was playing it this afternoon when i called in to give him his wages, and he was not that impressed either
Maybe the "Proper" Fear game is a bit better than the standalone expansions?

Damn, it has been that long since i completed Dead Space, that i cant remember anything about the levels, and i have just jumped like a numpty when opening a door and some fecking thing fell down in front of me
Not really fear as such but back in my Duke Nukem 3D multiplayer days I did actually fall off the side of my chair whilst strafing left to right to dodge enemy rockets.
For fear AVP2 did crap me out when playing as a Marine and walking through a dark tunnel there was an explosion and an Alien tail whipped out. I unleashed a whole clip only to realise it was actually a power cable whipping around. Cue very embarassed look on my face.

M/P games are always good for unexpected scary moments - I've caused a couple myself
One game of BF2 I was flying the bomber and someone came over teamspeak and asked me to bomb the Hotel flag as it was being captured.
I swung over and lined up on the flag - shallow dive, and released the bombs. Killed 5 people... okay so 2 of them were on my team who hadn't heard the call to stay away from the flag and got wiped out defending it
ops
One of the others was hiding in the pool... and came on to my teams teamspeak channel laughing his socks off and cursing me.
He told me that he saw me approaching and jumped in the pool to hide, only to look up and see his screen FILLED with a bomb that basically head-butted him. He said it scared the crap out of him, he squealed like a girl and fell backwards off his chair in fright

Silent Hill 2 by far & away my scariest game experience ever.
Then it's Dead Space.
Really looking forward to DS 2 later this year.
If the trailers are anything to go by I'm hoping the Limited Edition comes with spare underpants.

I'm playing Left 4 Dead 2 right now.
Its not really scary but its as close to being in the film Dawn of the Dead as you can get. Its absolutely fantastic. If you get a good group that work together it feels every bit like your trying to survive the horde.
