Best Place To Look For Techies
A job or 2 has come up in my company and it is falling to me to find suitable people - where is best to go to find them? Monster is an obvious but its like sifting wheat from chaff or more like finding needles in haystacks. What suggestions? Prefer not headhunter types as all they do is go through Monster and send you CVs...
Looking for someone who can write Crystal Reports.
Looking for someone who is a nuts/bolts techie who understands networks/desktops/servers/firewalls and various things like VMWare/Backups/etc
Ideally someone who can do both or who has strong knowledge in Crystal but also capable of the networking side...
Help!

the only way is to set a simple test (using vm machines)
get everyone to do it (have a defined list of success critera, such DHCP set with the correct range & scope options (DG etc) DNS configured with correct SRV records and external DNS resolvable, logon/startup scripts correctly applied through group policy, home folder re-direction etc etc)
soon sorts the chancers out

Graduate Support Analyst
A rapidly expanding company in Central London is seeking a support analyst to work as part of our growing operations team. This role will involve infrastructure and application support/development for 45 staff in our spacious East London offices. It is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate to become proficient with a number of key enterprise technologies that are essential for an analyst CV.
With a highly numerate, computer-related degree, you will have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications, desktop hardware and SQL databases. You will have hands-on experience with a current programming language (ideally Crystal Reports or SQL but C and Visual Basic also preferred) and demonstrate an ability to rapidly pick up technical skills/languages.
