iPad: May 28 for International roll out
Apple has stated that May 28 will be the official international roll out date for iPad, both Wi-Fi and 3G models.
Pricing for the UK can be found here
£699 for 64GB Wi-fi + 3G (inc VAT) does seem a little steep to me. Again we're getting shafted over here, the CAD$ is nigh on parity with the US$ but it looks like we'll be paying $50 more than our fat cousins for some inexplicable reason.
Orange has also released info on Data plans for the 3G versions, have a read here

Nice data plans! £699 is £100 more than I predicted, but I'll save that in a year with those data plans.
But, I spent my iPad money on a ferry trip to Spain, now that's a price I will moan about!! Couldn't face driving through France again, so it'll have to wait for Santa.

Why do people ALWAYS forget to takes VAT (UK) and sales tax (US) into account.
As well as the consntantly changing Dollar/pound price that Apple have to take into account.
Data plans are okay - but I'm going wi-fi only for ipad v1. If I need mobile access, a mi-fi or other 3G router will do.

Have pre ordered mine... 16gig WI-Fi.
We wont be humping it round the world like Jake Humphrey on the BBC's f1 coverage in Monaco. (check iplayer, it's glued to his right hand...)
It's a bit big for carting round town and if i need anything on the move i've got an I phone already.

For anyone interested, I bought a 32gb wifi iPad and a 3 mifi payg access point and very impressed with it. Had a couple of problems with the connection dropping but given that allows me to use it with my work laptop as well it's a double win.
Think it's more cost effective than doing the 3G iPad

I'm curious to see how Rogers will react to such a setup over here. I'd not be surprised if they revise their conditions to say that you cannot use your iPhone data plan in tethering mode for an iPad. As it stands they don't seem to be offering an option to add your 3G iPad to your existing data plan (I've got a 6GB/$30 per month plan) which would be ideal for me, I don't want to get another plan, even PAYG, I've already got a nice plan thanks.
I did try Myfi on the iPhone as an access point but it drains the battery in a most severe way. Hopefully OS 4 might have a built in ability to create an ad-hoc wireless network

Pffft, ipad is so old hat now
some of the chaps are off to pimp our wares at the launch tomorrow. We have been working ful tilt getting branded versions of th app ready so I have been giving the device a workout. Did have a wireless issue this morning but think it is working now, been to busy to look at it
we are working on an update to our own all and should have that out soon
hopefully we will be getting a 3G version to test with and I wi be forced to try on the road download performance and sync, what a shame!

£609 for 64GB Wi-fi + 3G Down here
And they come with a warning, Make sure you can afford the d/l fee's LOL
Overpriced gadget, albeit a pretty one
Edited to say you can get a 13" Macbook for another 50 quid, well the Aud equivalent, I think I'd take the Macbook.

Guys, I've come up with some ipad wallpapers and wonder if someone could try one or two out to see if they're okay?

If I have a few spare moments today I'll pop them on and screen shot them for you. A "Don't Panic" one in the vein of the original TV show would be nice
As I'm a lazy sod, any chance you should zip them up and email them over?
