iPhone Unlocking and Jailbreaking issue
Hi Guys,
I got an iPhone recently which was an O2 model. I got it unlocked & jailbroken at my local store so I could use my 3 sim card mainly, the bonus of being jailbroken is wasted on me.
Anyway, I was unable to access the mobile inter and speaking to 3 tech support they recommend that I reset my settings and said it wouldn't unjailbreak my phone. Guess what it did and not only that upgraded to 3.1.3, something I didn't want to do.
Now I'm having problems unlocking it.
I've tried using Black rain, snowbreeze and so on but no joy.
What I've done now it to restore my phone to factory setttings. But I don't know what software is on the phone, will it be 3.1.2 or 3.1.3?
Is there a way of unlocking the phone without jailbreaking it?

To find out the software version go into the Settings application then the General option and then select About. It should list various versions, one of which will be either 3.1.2 or 3.1.3. If you've done a factory restore then I'd say it'll be 3.1.3 as that is the latest version available.
As for how to unlock it. Unless O2 will unlock it again then at present there isn't any way to unlock the phone.

Start here http://shop.o2.co.uk/update/unlockmyiphone.html if you can fill the blanks you're done. If not, then you'll have to wait it out until the next firmware update.

Who'd thought unlocking a phone would be so difficult.

Try the O2 website, if you manage to get them to lock it, and if it's an O2 phone they probably will, you'll double it's value. If not then enjoy your phone with an O2 sim, unlocking is ready but not released until the next firmware update.
