Iphone VS G2 and HTC with windows 7
I have an Iphone 3GS and to be fair it's crap compaired to the above in terms of high quality vids. A bloke at work as got the HTC windows 7 thing and was showing me a youtube vid of it, it was like been at home on the laptop. Told another bloke at work how good the youtube vids was, as his got the G2 it was not as good as the HTC but it peeded all over the 3GS.
Now i have found some thing called power downloader and it as got some thing called dailymotion, this is good and far better the going though the tube but can the iphones get the same quailty as the above.
This is going through the 3g and not wi-fi

I didn't think mobile W7 was out till the end of the year. You sure it wasn't 6.5?
Theres a thread on Pistonheads about the HTC Desire and they are claiming similar re speed v the iphone.

Overall the iPhone cannot be beaten as an all in one package. Sure, certain functions may not be as good as other phones, but as a whole it is untouchable at the moment.
You need to decide what is important to you as a purchase.
BTW Windows 7 mobile is NOT out yet.

Steve, bit sweeping that, the iPhone is far from a useless phone, it's my main phone and I use it all over the world without issue, in fact it's a far better phone than the Nokia it replaced. Yes there are phones that may have better reception, my old 6230i for instance has probably given me the start of a tumour, but it would get a signal where others failed. What it didn't do was... well... anything else.
Yes Nokia sells lots of phones, but they've failed to launch a true competitor to the iPhone because as Shawn has stated they can't quite get the full package together.

jjones,
It is probably an upgrade for some, but it is certainly not an overall upgrade for me. I have only recently changed to an iPhone and I was so ANTI iPhone...... but for me it does everything I need it to do and it is so intuitive and tactile. OK, the camera is not that good, it does not do flash, is not multitasking and has no open BT protocol. Does this ACTUALLY cause me problems for 99% of my required use... no.
It's always horses for courses and Apple are not thick. They will undoubtedly add many of the (let's be honest for most people), minor negatives, over time. I would even go as far to say, as this is part of their marketing strategy.
Steve,
You don't half talk some ****.... more than me!

Just have to add that the iPhone does in fact multitask, it's only third party apps that can't run in the background and 99% of the time have no reason to.

I i browse to youtube on my G2/Hero then the quality is not so good, but if i use the built in youtube app, the quality is much, much better.
Something about browsing to youtube via a phones browser automatically sets it to "youtube mobile" if i remember rightly.
