Herself's house has AOL broadband and for the past couple of days we have not been able to get a connection to the internet, the router says that it is connected to the internet but we cannot get to any website / e-mail etc.
It started happening on Wednesday whenever I decided to lock down the security on the router so I thought that I had locked it down to much but the router still said it was connected, I took some of the security off and still couldn't connect to anything and then took more off and it still wouldn't connect (I was doing all of this on the pc wired directly into the router with the rj45 cable).
Eventually I gave up and reset the router back to factory defaults and tried to start again without any security so after putting in the username & password etc the router connected to the internet again but it still wouldn't let me connect to any websites etc.
It would let our laptops or the pc (directly connected) or x-box or my phone connect to any website and of course AOL say there are no problems at there end. Anybody else having connection problems at home with AOL ???
BTW AOL was not my choice of ISP, she was with them before I met her.
I might bring my router round and try it on her phoneline to see what happens in case the router is faulty but it is only a few months old (a Belkin of some kind)
