AV software performance against malware
I'm bored of cleaning PCs which have been infected with fake-AV tools.
User education aside (chopping hands off isn't the done thing these days), does anyone good experience of a particular AV brand keeping fake-AV at bay?
McAfee ASAP is very poor (verging on pointless IMHO) for stopping this stuff. Always end up in Safe Mode, then Combofix and Malwarebytes to get rid.
Cheers,
Chris.

I would be interested in the answer as well, seem to be hit with the simlair problem at work, anda fair few home machines that have the same problem. Our current AV @ work - Sophos seem to be pretty poor at getting rid of spyware as well - espcially the fake AV. I've been told that most fake av's dont have behave like normal spyware \ virus hence why they are so difficult to detect / remove with normal AV software. Not sure how true this is / how much of it I believe myself though.
Think user education is one of the better ways
