how much hassle?
hi, my computer totally screwed up and i had to start from scratch and install windows 7 and get my programs etc back, been doing this for hours, finally all sorted, wireless etc all good, but you wouldnt believe the only thing i cant seem to do is get the picture resolution correct, ive tried everything and the resolution only gives me 2 options, too big and too small lol,my pages are too wide for the screen and pictures look short and fat,im sick of going round in circles with this now......some help would really benefit my laptop from getting a kickin.

You may need to identify what graphics "chip" your lappy is using, and download the drivers from ATI/Nvidia/Lappy manufacturers.

Type "info" into start menu bar, and click on system info, then components, then display.
That tells you what display hardware/drivers you have !
then google that for drivers.....

Or right click my computer, properties, Device manager top left, go to Display Adaptors, double click that and you will see your card. Now double click the card and go to the driver tab and click update driver.

If that doesn't work, try the HP site for their specific drivers for your model..

Are you looking for graphics drivers for Windows 7*?
The Microsoft Windows 7* operating system (OS) supports two different graphics driver models: the Windows* Display Driver Model (WDDM 1.0 & 1.1) and the older Windows* XP Driver Model (XPDM). WDDM drivers provide the 3D graphical user interface experience to users. XPDM drivers provide an interface that visually resembles the Windows XP user interface and do not support Windows 7 OS premium features such as the Microsoft Aero* user interface.
