CCTV to PC Monitor? How do i do this?Tech Guyz
Hi
Planning on moving a pc into this room with a nice big screen however it is a pretty crap monitor in that it only accepts vga connection at the back lol.
this room has cctv cameras in it which go to the tv via a scart socket.
anyway i can get rid of the tv (as the monitor is bigger) and display both pc and cctv on the pc monitor?
is their some sort of box i can get that allows me to switch between the two?
cant really find what i'm looking for online
any help would be appreciated
cheers

Sack off the crap scart cctv system and buy a proper PC DVR setup.
You can chop the scart plug off and wire up some proper connectors (i have done this before) but to be honest, most scart socket type cctv system seam of dubious quality (the ones i have seen....) and you would still need a pc dvr card anyway..

i havnt actually looked at the system, this is at my brothers place, he said it is dvr.. got 9 cameras connected to it and all 9 are recorded via hard drive, loads of connections on the back, i'll get a pic of the back of it and i can take it from there as to what he needs, i think he has more options, he's just foolishly used the scart option
