XBMC / Win 7 Media Centre streaming
Hi - I am trying to create a home streaming network to serve pictures, videos and audio to several devices - xbox and pc's.
I have configured vortexbox (freeware NAS) on a spare PC and now don't need whether I should:
1. Install Twonkymedia and use this to serve media
2. Map shares from NAS to WMC and use this to serve the media
3. Or a combination of the above for different devices (ie. Xbox would logically go better with WMC) and all other PC's to use XBMC.
What do you guys think?
If i've got things **** over face and there is a flaw please put me right!
cheers

WMC OS is no longer supported by MS
Use XP or & and use Tversity or similar
WMP works pretty well, although it cant handle DTS (at least not for me
lol)
Tversity works for me, with a few hiccups

I used to use mine with " Windows Media Connect " on my pc with XP on it.
I might still have a copy of this file somwhere if needed but...........
Just installed Win7 64bit on my desktop at home, started up the Xbox360, went to the Media Centre option, wrote down the password, went to the pc, opened Media Centre, entered the password = worked fine.
Simples!

Should have added, i have not tested it with any movies yet because.
1. i don't have any bar a few episodes of lost on a spare hard drive somewhere
2. everything else i lost when the harddrive failed.
It did stream the MP3`s ok, and i was surprised to see it pull the album art up and display it on the xbox screen
