Anyone used Network Flight Recorder IDS
NFR does do what it say's on the tin, but you need to spend a considerable amount of time setting up the policies regarding what is deemed to be a worth recording. If your a IDS expert then its the dogs....if your not then its your very own nightmare.
Having said that its been some time since I 'played' with NFR so this may have all changed. I tend to work on ISS RealSecure and this is a bit like the Microsoft V Linux arena.

ISS Realsecure will drop packets if it's not designed correctly (as will anything else). Using a Cluster of Realsecure Network IDS boxs will get you up to 1Gb without drops.
Far be it for me to suggest that you should be talking to Techies and not salesmen.......
