EXCEL question
My daughter has been teaching me how to use Excel. I am getting better but one problem which she can't resolve!
I have a column of dates as: -
02/03
29/03
01/06
etc
I want to change this to read: -
2-Mar
29-Mar
1-June
She has tried to highlight and change the date format but this doesn't seem to make any difference??
Any suggestions please?
Thanks, David

FWIW, I've just copied/pasted your top numbers into Excel - it came straight up with what you wanted.....
But you are doing it right -
01/01
right-click (format cells)
pop down to "custom" and it should work

If the data has been copied from elsewhere it probably has some weird format with it. You can copy and paste the column into notepad (removes formatting) then copy and paste it back into a different (unformatted) column and then drag that column to where you want it. Thats assuming the above suggestions dont work which they should do
