Myself and a mate have the same problem. I reloaded my screen drivers - and now XP instead of switching off just restarts every time.
My mate loaded a game (wolfenstein I think!) and his does it too!
Any idea's?
I guess its to do with the APM - but how to fix it?
n.n Turned ACPI off on mine ages ago as it did'nt like my legacy ISA parallel card (2 LPT ports), but its only just started to do the restart thang.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Just in case anybody saw this and had the same symptoms I have finally found out what was causing the problem.
Roxio Easy CD Creator....both basic & Platinum. Although they said ECDC v5.0 worked for XP, they were wrong....it introduced a lot of issues into XP, one of which is rebooting instead of shutting down.
Roxio have recently issued a patch to version 5.1 which fixes these XP problems. - installed patch - fixed
Apparently 90% of XP rebooting problems are fixed by this patch so if you have the same problem then its your first port of call!
