What is "Gaming Ram" ?
We might need a few more details then that.
I run 2gb of cheap DDR2 ram myself without any gaming issues (winxp)
Plan was to add another 2gb of cheap DDR2 when i upgrade to win7

no idea fella, just did a search for 2 x 2 GIG RAM and that one come up at good value. The tests show that different types of RAM behave differently

You wont need anymore RAM when you go to Windows 7, you will notice that Windows 7 will run miles faster than xp on your current config due to being rebuilt completely on a new Kernel etc

What are peoples thoughts on running a 1:1 mem:cpu ratio these days?
I never seamed to notice much difference while gaming to be honest, at the moment mine is 1:1 with the cheap stuff running 350.1mhz
It is one of the things i never really noticed an "improvement" from, bar some apparent stability now and again.
