Good online retailer for pc stuff ?
Hi,
Can anyone recommend an online retailer for computer stuff like hard drives, external dvd drives, leads etc. I dont always want the cheapest but after a recent bad experience (cheap ebay power supply) i want reliable, branded stuff.
I've used Misco.co.uk once before and they seemed okay.

Also used Dabs & Misco.
In some cases the less obvious such as Amazon. If I were really desperate then dare I say it PCworld.
Have used Overclockers in the past (don't live far from them), but sending things back can be a pain

Another vote for Overclockers, they were 2 minute drive from me so I've used them alot ( now a 10 minute drive as they have moved - how rude ) ,
but they can be a little dear but you get what you pay for
Novatech & ebuyer are also good....

Amazon often redirect you. I'm after reliability of quality more than anything. Last week i bought a power supply from ebay. I turned it on,it went bang and killed a dvd drive as well. Lesson learn't.

Ebuyer
Aria
Scan
Novatech
Generally in that order, Ebuyer and Aria usually are cheapest unless your after something specific thats not run of the mill or after the very latest thing.
If you want reduced risk, avoid computer fairs and ebayers - go for a proper VAT reg Ltd company with a proper RMA procedure. Not some career bedroom/car boot salesman.

Id choose Scan over Aria every time. Have a closer look at the prices. I know theyve moved (relatively) recently, but before they did their 'premises' were ****-poor too.

I've been using CCL Computers for a while now, mainly because I live nearby, but their prices & service are pretty good in my experience.

seeing as you are in lincolnshire - have you tried Tekheads (they are in lincoln off whisby way). I have used them several times and you can also pick up your stuff if needed.
