Buy a a new laptop now! Or wait till 2010 ?
Is any new technology on the horizon for laptops in 2010 thats worth waiting for ? I wouldn`t mind a new laptop with an i7 processor, their are a few out at the min but with i7 being fairly new in notebooks i was wondering if its best to wait till a few possible teething probs are out of the way like high temps and constant fan noise etc.
Its a case of do i buy now or wait for companies to release a new range in the new year like they usually do ?

If I was buying at the moment I'd go Core i7. See here for one review ... HP Envy 15 'Lynnfield' Core i7 laptop ? Register Hardware
Dell also do Core i7 versions but I've read that these aren't shipping as yet.

Thanks for the suggestion
It must be minimum 17 inch and ideally geared towards gaming with good a graphics card or cards, i wouldn`t touch Dell with a barge pole after some of the things ive read on the net.

I wouldn't listen to everything on the net .... I have a DELL Inspiron 15". Had it for about 4/5 years and it's still fine. Mate has the same one for almost as long. Nowt wrong with that either. I would say that there will be more negative things said about DELL 'cos they sell more than most. As a % though I wouldn't say there was more wrong with them.

Good value for money until things start to go wrong when you then have to put up with Dell`s poor aftercare, indian call centres where you get more sense out of tailors dummy from what you read.
General home laptops are fine as their isn`t a lot to go wrong with them, its Dell`s high end machines where the problem starts, you here of numerous failed graphics cards and processors etc.
Read some of the horror stories here, i came across this site when looking for a new i7 laptop.

Why do you think they have the nickname of welcome to Hell ? They have just been sued in quite a few states in the US for millions of dollars because of their poor customer service.

Got to echo above. The machines are great. When they work (which in all fairness, is 99.9% of the time).
The customer service is atrocious.
They are box pushers. If you work on that basis, then you know exactly what you're getting.
In my experience, of course
