i have been trying to download this in itunes for a few weeks now but with no luck.

it starts to down load, then times out.

i have up dated itunes etc.

i have the 3.1 on at the mo

(3gs)

anything else i can try?

Windows renames the files as .zip for some bizarre reason. So you need to go and rename it back to .ipsw.

Plug in your phone, then go into iTunes, hold down the shift key and click on restore. It will then ask you to point towards your ipsw file. This will wipe the phone, so make sure you have backed it up first!

When the firmware is loaded it will ask you which backup to restore from and your phone will be as it was just on 3.1.2.
