Broadband Microfilters

Broadband Microfilters
Ahhhhhhh
I didn't realise that these MUST be the first thing connected to the main socket - numpty!
I have sky broadband and the speed varied generally between 3.5Mb & 6MB
I stumbled upon the revelation of the microfilter by accident ( I generally don't read instructions unless I really have to)
So, quick swap of cables, reboot the router and et voila 8.5MB

I tried one of those at my last place and it actually slowed things up noticeably! Maybe I had a one-off duffer but I had to get my money back in the end.

Mate of mine tried it and didn't see a difference however I have the older one and the difference for me was huge. I still think though for £11 and a 30 day money back guarantee its worth a go

The filtered master faceplate is indeed *just* a microfilter but what it allows is two separate lines throughout the house with no additional filters. Without it you need a microfilter whenever you fit a device to an extension as both BB and phone data are on the same line.
If you just plug a BB device into an unfiltered extension you'll see, at the very least, line degradation to some degree. Others may not work at all.
Have you tried disconnecting the bell wire in your house?

We tend to use the ADSL Nation filters at work - worth the money IMHO.
I swapped a bog-standard filter for an ADSL Nation one and that made the difference between Caller ID working & not working on my phone.
