Default Vista ReadyBoost

Everything I have read suggested the use of a USB memory stick would achieve very little in terms of speed.
Well I have just introduced a 2gig stick + the existing 3 gig RAM and my laptop is flying !
I recommend the use of this facility in Vista for sure .

it usually makes a difference on systems with insufficient ram where there is significant paging. readyboost works well in this instance because of the near 0 seek times for small files.

your 3gb ram "shouldn't" show very much difference at all, but maybe your slow laptop drive access times are just slower than the stick.
