Broadband speed
My broadband has been painfully slow recently, and I wondered if there was some way that I can tell whether it is a problem at my end, or whether it is just contention at the exchange. It's an 8Mb package, and I used to get around 5Mb in the daytime, and about 2Mb in the evenings. Recently, I've been getting as low as 256k in the evenings.
The router downstream connection speed is 7616, upload is 448. Router stats show line attenuation of 32db downstream, 19db upstream and noise margin of 9.9db downstream, 23db upstream.
From what I've read, these are pretty decent figures, given my distance to the exchange, so does that mean that the wiring at my end is all well, and it is just contention at the exchange?
Thanks in advance!
