dell 1520 laptop dvd drive not detected in nero

as title dvd+-rw drive ts-l632h d300 not detected in nero 9 puzzling anyone know why?
could anyone recommend a decent external dvd rw drive which is supported.

If it's the internal drive does the BIOS see it? If so, does the OS see it and as what?

yes internal drive in bios & os,detected using roxio no problem,just would like to try nero.
