Default Dirt 2, so who bought a copy today then?

I went round to the local games shop after work to pick up a copy, i have a game to trade in, which i suspect may be worth about £10 (50cent blood on the sand, pmsl i only paid £2 for it )

Walked into the shop and Dirt 2 was on the shelves for £37
The website said £31.99 !

Walked back out and came home, just ordered from shopto instead £29.85 delivered and a free Dirt 2 DVD included!

Bought a copy tonight in Sainsburys as the mrs was out with work tonight so I had the tv. It was my first game purchase for over a year and a bit impulsive but I quite liked dirt 1 so went for it.

Been playing it the last 3 hours using my 360 wheel and I think it's fantastic, somuch better than the first dirt, especially the rallying.

Visuals are awesome, sound is excellent, and the gameplay is good so I'm very happy with it.

I have been playing the demo for the last couple of night and really enjoyed it, might buy this as I don't have many car games, they always seem to frustrate me.

It seemed to take a few minutes last night, but finally connected.

Also.... I finally decided to use my MS Wheel for the first time (bought it a couple of months ago for when Forza 3 comes out) and I must say, it is a total bag of **** with this game. I have been used to the Logitech G25 wheel for the PC and it is FAR superior. Not sure if it is the crap feel of the game or the crap wheel tbh. Nearly tossed it out of the window and instead went back to the joypad..... much better then!

What view are people using?

I prefer the incar view when the nice scottish bloke is telling me the pace notes, but i can not handle the incar view when other cars are on the track, crashing into me and generally putting me off i also hate the Raid races for some reason

The rest of it is good!

I use the in car view, although it can get fruity when you hit some water or its dark, or your bonnet is smashed.

Haven't been on it since due to busyness but will be back on it at the weekend.

Shaun, strange about the wheel, although it does take some getting used to - I couldn't go without it on driving games now.

DW,
I have not tried it for anything else and I believe it feels fine with Forza 2. Just felt really unrealistic on DiRT2...... perhaps that is the game, rather than the wheel!

I loved Colin Mcrae 2 but have not liked a rally game since. I know cm2 was a touch arcady but was great to play. Had cm3 and 4 but they just didn't have the flow of cm2. Does anyone know what i'm talking about? Anyway, i am coming to my point I have the Dirt 1 demo and that again didn't flow like cm2. Having played the D2 demo - there seems to be flow to it. If anyone knows what i'm getting at - shall i go and buy D2 or not?

What i found quite good in the handling model, was that i was experimenting with throttle control in the scooby

I had turned in far to fast/hard and was no doubt due to smack the barrier, i backed off the throttle to about 60% and held it and it felt like the power shifted and the front end did pull me through without hitting the barrier, just as it should.

It felt pretty much the same as my old scooby used to do when i was looning about, if i had of fully backed off i would have skidded into the barrier for sure (classic drivers mistake)

I am rank 70 on my career now and have comlpeted all 100 dirt tour events, I
have got upto 23 online but as you say I am getting sick of the same tracks.

Out of the 41 tracks on the game it seems as though you are playing the same 5 or 6 tracks online

Was thinking about trading it in yesterday for NFS:Shift

I bought it this morning and spent a couple of hours on it.

My verdict: It`s awful.

For sale, Dirt 2 for Xbox360, one careful owner, low miles, FSH . . .

Seams bizzare that the last achievements are for getting to rank 30, but you can double that before you win all the events ?
