Default Domain/Hosting

I need some webspace and a new domain. Saw this but not sure what these people are like or if there are any better deals out there at the mo?

I usually use Netweaver but their cheapest package is now £35 instead of £20.

I use fasthosts and they are pretty good. Try 1&1 domains as well

I'd recommend Titan Internet. Cheapest package is £50 per year, but their service and support is excellent.

Another vote for fasthosts. I've got 4 domains through them, (been using them a few years) and the service has been great. Much better than I got from 1&1.

I looked at Titan. How good is the service and is it just email support 24/7?

The site is hopefully an ongoing business. No need for databases, etc, just nice simple web pages.

If the service of titan is same day email or even better, telephone support i would probably pay the extra.

Out of interest, what has anyone contacted support for?

Can't say I had the need to contact them before and nobody has contacted me with regards to sites being down.

As I've been in Canada when I've had problems, and given the time difference, I've only ever used Titan's email support, but they are very quick indeed. Typically well under 30 mins to respond. As for issues I've had, hmm, just looking ay my history, most of the issues have been bozo points at my end.

I do recall sending one support question in around 5pm EDT, so 10pm GMT on a friday night and getting a response very quickly.

I've only ever phoned them when renewing my contact with them, and they are always quick and more than pleasant to speak to.

The vast majority of the time my hosting just works, and that's exactly what you want, but when there are problems they do seem to be very pro-active in resolving them.
