Repairing Dell's
#4
Cheers Midlife. I've searched the net quite a bit, but most them have multiple part numbers, and some are different variations of the 5100 board. I can't see any of the part numbers I've seen on the net, on the board itself.
Did try ebay, but would prefer to go for a brand new board if possible. Most tend to be US sites, so would prefer UK only too.

Cheers guys. Yeah I wasn't looking to go to dell direct. I knew it was going to be 300 plus quid for the part.
I got the part number now, its the first 4 digits of a long barcode on the board.
I'm debating whether to go for a new motherboard or not. They don't mind having a new pc built from scratch.
So its either the hassle of a new build, new OS install etc or the hassle of getting a new Dell mobo, and it not being the problem.

OK so I'm going to get them a new case (the dells front panel connector looks to be a board specific ribbon cable), motherboard and PSU. The Optical and hard drives should be OK.
I want to keep the CPU to keep costs down for them. Its a Pentium 4 Intel LGA775, but how do I find the chipset that it needs? They have mobo's on overclockers listed by LGA775 and then chipset types.
Could anyone reccommend a cheapish board to use on this cpu? HEre is the link to the Dell specs: Dell System Information / Dell Warranty Extensions & Upgrades / Dell Warranty Status
