Alright guys,

Could someone help?

I have just been given 18 months old desktop computer. It hasn't been used for about 12 months. I turn it on and updated eveything Windows Xp sp3 etc.

When i start the computer i get this messgae

"windows has closed this program
Program Name: Generic host services win32"

I have tried all the updates i can find, including doing a manual update. I just can't shift it.

Any ideas?

try these

You receive a "Generic Host Process" error message after you start the computer, or DBCS attachment file names are not displayed in Rich Text e-mail messages

remove all 3rd party cards like graphic/soundcards
