Christain

I'm sure its great but since it starts by trying to download a 1Mb file (and there didn't appear to be a skip intro option) I gave up after a 1 min.....

Christian, I did take a while to load. I have a 2meg link as well

It looks good apart from that dodgy looking trainee car salesman geezer on the welcome page

Some nice bits, but that's the last visit from me.

This is a good site that doesn't hog your bandwidth - it can be done.

Sorry

I was a bit cautious about the size of the flash as i am currently hosting it off my adsl line for the time being, only 256k up you see.

A skip option is available, however as the whole site is in flash, it is just for skipping the intro. Also, it is one flash file, instead of multiple, so in theory if I split it up into sections, would be 3x 333k roughly.

Sorry, given up as well. 1MB for a Flash file is MASSIVE!! What have you got in there?

To speed things up, you need to break the file down into lots more smaller movies then use the LoadMovie and UnLoadMovie functions.

I can only think that you have imported lots of photos into the site. Another thing - do you *have* to use Flash for the site? Many people use Flash these days for the "wow" factor, but if you dont need to , then stick to HTML. I like Flash, but IMHO it is better when integrated with HTML, rather than stand alone.

Have a look at Neaves Site - nice integration

It may be big, but Oh My God. The soundtrack that goes with it all is an absolutly top choice. I dunno, the car, the girl, the IT Skillz and the DJing, not bad eh?

Cheers,

Nick

Its just bad etiquette to load a file that big with offering a choice.

Offer the use a choice immediately, then instead of loading a huge lump of a file, try streaming audiio instead.

hmm, took a while to load, but looked quite cool. Thank god for quick connections at the office!

gotta say the music off button is cool, but a 'sound effects on/off' one would be good as that 'squeak' selector noise is rather annoying.
