Ashes 2009 - All formats

At last

http://www.codemasters.co.uk/games/?...113&format=PS3
A brand new game top to bottom, usually they use the engine from previous games and just update them, a la Lara, Fifa etc but I read today this will be new from the ground up, a bit of a gamble considering how good Lara 2005/2007 were but they know what their doing unlike EA Cricket which was pants.
Downside, the release date is late August way after the Ashes has started

No complaints though as I thought we'd never see another Cricket game from codies.
Uncharted 2 and Ashes 2009 top of my wanted list this Autumn

I'd join you but i'll be on the Dark side (PS)
Hopefully there will come a time where irrespective of whether you have a PS or MS you can still play against each other if you have the same game, i.e. the gaming server will do the necessary conversions.
Bit knowing the manufacturers they would never sanction it.

Yeah, should be a good october. There were some good things with the GT series that aren't in Forza.
1. Adjustable traction/stability control rather than just on/off
2. Ability to have different compound tyres on different axles eg: Hard front/soft rears
3. switch between the hired driver and you on the endurance races.
4. ability to speed up or slow down the hired driver.

Of course the GT series didn't simulate tire wear, damage modelling, the affect of fuel loads etc, all of which Forza did. Not saying it did a good job of it, but at least it made an attempt
Too many good games coming out in October->December. Think I need to sell a kidney or something

It did have damage but, of course, never visually represented it.
Forza's good perhaps even great but in my heart I'm a GT fan

Online play with the cricket sounds like it could be fun though
Did it not simulate tyre wear? I'm sure it did you know at least in GT4 or maybe 3.

I'm sure it has, I kept GT4 when I got my PS3, i'll have to check it out.
It's the Ashes all year long on my Brian Lara
, in the middle of an interesting test at the moment, pretty similar to Egdaston 1981 at the moment, although my bowlers are tiring of the 100+ partnership Punter and Gilly have assembled
time to bring Jimmy back into the attack
