Windows Vista Business 64bit.....
I have just gotten my hands on a (new boxed and original microsoft) copy of said operating system, at the moment I run vista home premium 32bit, is it worth me upgrading to business or will I lose some of the applications I have on my home version?

you need to check whether there are 64 bit drivers for all your hardware and whether there are 64bit versions of your applications. 32 bit apps should work okay, but you may find some don't work properly with the 64 bit OS.
start64.com is a good page for 64 bit drivers and apps that are out there.
your immediate benefit for 64 bit is the ability address more memory. i have 8gigs in my machine and i like not running into memory issues.
with no apps running in my task bar and very few in the system tray, vista 64 ultimate uses 1.3gb ram.

Cheers Chef
My biggest issue was if I could upgrade or not, seems I cannot so would have to do a full clean install though its not all bad news, would end up with a few new bits in the PC go for a raptor as a boot drive, then add a 500gb hdd, see what I can copy across off my hdd I have just now so I dont have too much downtime, though duel boot could be an option.
Also could add a bluray drive whilst im at it.... hmmmm

If your unsure of drivers, download and run a program called "DRIVERMAX" Its free and backs up ALL your drivers and improtant system files so you can upgrade your os and not have the headache of having to find drivers for every part of your system
However, i`m not sure how it would cope going from a 32-Bit OS to a 64-Bit OS.
But certainly worth a try!
