I-Pod touch sync problem :(
Help please
I've been trying to get some songs from I-Tunes onto an ipod touch but I get an error message saying the i-pod is synced to a different library (pic below) and won't go any further unless stuff gets deleted.
Is there a way around this Please
TIA

Tricky..... I have 2 kids .... One who uses the main PC and one who uses the Laptop !
The problem is (I think) the I pod I'm having problems with was originally linked to the PC and is now being used on the Laptop ....!!
I guess I just need to get the I-pod originally synced to the PC .........synced to the Laptop

Thanks for the info
I have authorised the Ipod on the PC and laptop but I still can't get at the Coldplay album I bought off i-tunes.
I presume the songs are on the laptop somewhere LOL
The problem appears to be the "library" I'm using.....the Laptop library is not the same as the library on the i-pod and to match them up the error message (above) seems to want me to delete everything off the i-pod.
I'm now more confused than ever LOL

You are seeing Apple's form of copy protection in action. They auth an iPod to a machine, or machines, and if you attempt to sync with another machine you see the message you have posted. The idea being that you could be loading the iPod with additional music which isn't legal, so they give you the option to continue, which will make the iPod match whatever it is your syncing against, losing any existing music on the iPod, or not to sync.
The bottom line here? Do NOT use the automatic sync options, use the "Manually Manage Music" option. You can still drag playlists and, I think, the whole music Library onto the iPod, it simply means you have to do it manually rather than automatically.
What you may want to do is setup a playlist for each person and get them to put all their music into that playlist, thus when you want to sync, you simply drag and drop that playlist onto the iPod. If they have added new items to the list they are added to the iPod, if they have removed items from the list they are removed from the iPod, if the items are in the list and the iPod then nothing happens.
