Bluetooth A2DP profile query.
Got a phone that I want to replace my MP3 player with in the car, which supports the A2DP profile for bluetooth streaming of musac .... Silly question, but as the phone is paired with the car stereo (I'll have a stereo which supports streaming too) will I get phone calls interrupting the music? Yes is good BTW ......
I know that with the headphones on then a call 'fades' the music, which fades up from the point of the call when you hang up.
As I said, probably a silly question and I will go to a shop to test it out before I buy but thought I'd try to cover most/all of the angles before then ...

It depends on the phone, and the HU
my sony bt HU will accept media streaming from my N95 & my K800i and my BT mp3 player
It will also answer calls from my phones, it just switches to the phone automatically.
It wont work with the Iphone, (thanks apple, one sale lost)
HU's in other cars (oem) may work for calls, but may not for streaming.

Well it works on my HU (Pioneer FH-P80BT ), with my scabby crashy old SE c902
Just need to turn OFF bluetooth power saving option (which allows several BT devices to connect simulatenously; as the HU connects as via two BT connections....I think ).
Phone rings, phone's music player pauses. During which it flashes up on the HU saying there is an incomming call.
What I can't get working is Voice dialing via the HU...it worked once..and only once. And then did the same when I tried it with another phone

Ta chaps. Mind is now at rest ......
Just waiting for the microSDHC 32GB cards to come out (by June apparently from Sandisk) then I'll have my entire music collection on the phone plus still have room for piccies etc. Got the phone (E71 with only a 2GB card at present) wired to the car's aux-in so far (only Bluetooth profile on the current car stereo is for hands-free hence the query) and also got it plugged into the old amp I have connected to my computer. Isn't technology wonderful? Sometimes .......
