Default Vista explorer blerghh

I have a vista lappy to fix, just going through the files at the mo, but getting

increasingly annoyed with the cotton wool fluffy appearance of vista.

is there any way i can get the classic XP explorer pane ?

bloody favorites & folder,s and menubars blerghhh

Ive tried to obvious, themes and classic view, but still cant get the explroer

pane to revert to the classic view

any ideas

Open explorer, hit ALT key, menu appears at top, tools, folder options, choose classic view. You can do the same via control panel as well.

i thought you can hide the favourites pane and 'show folders' to see the tree.

alternatively, you can use something like directory opus or Xplorer2 - if you like your file manager like windows 3.11
