Default XBOX 360 Elite Advice

Ok i know most of you on here have this console and i thinking of getting one today. As my last console was a playstation 1 it's been along time since i was into the whole game console thing,it's been laptops the last few yrs because was on the move alot couldn't really lump around a console with me lol.Im not considering a Ps3 because i think it's too expensive, and the 360 is reasonably priced with 2 free games and a extra controller for £224.00.The only thing thats putting me off a little is this internet connection is anyone running their 360 through a laptop using the ethernet lead instead of forking out for the 360 wireless connector **** paying that.Basically im not sure after not owning a console for some yrs if the 360 will relight my fire,or will end up going back to my laptop.

Does it have to be an Elite?

Will the Xbox be too far away to run an ethernet cable to your router?

You can pick up an official adapter for around £35 from Littlewoods Direct as they do £30 off vouchers for new customers.

I will try it again in the morning will remember setting to share, had to get a new wireless router too as my old one was kaput but got the new one in easter sale anyhow from £89.00 to £40.00 hehe.Ive only had about half hour play on gears just been to busy today to play..It's a good game just hope i can get connected for online play..I dont find the xbox that noisy either to me it's pritty quiet ive had louder pc's in the past,it's a little noisy playing dvd's leaving the console on the floor you get a bit of a hum,but nothing as loud as what ive read on the net, pritty much liking it.
