Xbox 360 RROD: What console do you get back?
Hello
My release day Xbox finally gave up the ghost the other day and it has been sent back to Microsoft. The console was in immaculate condition, what am I going to get back? The same console?
It doesn't look good that under 'My Devices' at xbox.com it has disapeared!
Thanks,
Steve

I went through 14 of the release day machines On a few occaisions I had a replacement unit, and on other occaisions I got the same unit back (after being fixed). Didn't seem to be any pattern....

Hopefully Easter wont slow the repair down too much -- in the meantime I'm back to using my original Xbox for streaming movies: It is still quite impressive all these years later!

I've had the RROD twice on my launch day machine. Both times I've got the same console back, both times the motherboard has been replaced. With the second repair they also replaced the DVD drive (it still sounds like a jet though!)

don't worry about getting a "non immaculate" one back, they usually come back looking brand spanking new!
i could have sworn that mine was a brand new machine, judging by what apeared to be new plastics (or do they clean them?)

Blimey thought I was doing badly with 11 in 26 months the worst lasting 13 dasy before failing. I got mine upgraded to an Elite as an apology but that packed uop also so bouyght an Arcade and that has not missed a beat in 6 month so the cheapest one has been the most reliable so far no doubt due to the new chipset , heatsink etc
