iphone pwnage

Can you still buy the iphone 3g from carphonewarehouse and not be commited to a contract??? I'm unsure if activation is the same as the old 2g iphone. I'm with 02 so I don't need any unlocking so I was going to use the pwnage tool to activate it and actually see what the iphone 3g is like

I don't want to pay out for a payg iphone as I'm sure they are a lesser version due to missing some settings the contract iphone has??? Also I can get the iphone for £100 on a contract if I don't get tied in buying it.

The Pay as you Go iPhone is exactly the same as the contract one.

You can pick up a second hand 8gb one for around £200 if you look on Gumtree or similiar.

As far as I'm aware there isn't anything special about the PAYG vs the contract iPhone. From the iPhone OS viewpoint, I've not heard anything about features being disabled or anything like that. The only difference I'm aware of is that you'll pay more for the PAYG phone.
