Conficker virus - does it all kick off tomorrow

Yes, conflicker is meant to activate today. From what I recall, they aren't sure exactly what it's going to do. Could be just a pop-up saying "April Fool!" or it could wipe your drive.

The people who have reverse coded the conficker generation C worm have stated that it will simply increase the number of sites it attempts to connect to to get further instructions.
If you are fully patched you have little to worry about, but you should also be running an active and fully updated AV product as well.
We've managed to fight off a severe outbreak of the conficker Gen.B worm and I've been actively monitoring various networks I look after this morning.... so far so good - there has been no sign of any rampant 'net bound traffic from unauthorised sources.
