Anyone know what colour the socket is to feed a 3.5mm jack into the computer from a turntable?

Mine has pink, blue, grey, black, yellow and green

Blue is the Line-In. Depending on what type of turntable it is, you'll need a preamp in between the two though. I connect my Technics 1210's via my mixer.

My computer is running Vista, and I've been told I DON'T need a preamp with the turntable I've borrowed.

Thanks for the colour code

If the preamp is built in then you're ready to go
