Re-installing Windows XP
It appears I've got some corrupt ".dll" files on my laptop and it seems they are the reason I can't install XP SP3.
I have been told that the only way to fix them is to re-install Windows.
Being a technical numpty on this subject, what exactly will that do to my computer?
i.e. Will that wipe everything on the HD when re-installed? What exactly should I back-up before doing the re-install and what will I lose? Will I lose my Anti-virus program and programs I've downloaded?
Thanks in advance

Sounds promising.
There's more than one file. I have a log at home on the laptop with a list of the corrupt files. I'll post them later when I get in from work.

Its a "free" scan, but you will have to pay for it to fix any errors and there is always something out there that is freeware and much better, this is considered by most to be the standard..
