I had problems with a MacBook dropping internet connection, whilst a MacBook Pro (next to it) was fine.
I changed the channel on the wireless router, and all has been fine ever since. You may have a neighbour who's wireless channel is conflicting with your own.

To add to Rich's questions. How are you connecting your Mac to the Internet? Is it plugged in via ethernet or are you using the wireless Airport connection.

Try changing the channel it broadcasts on, FWIW i use channel 2 and it hasn't had a problem for ages.
I think they all default to the same so you only need a neighbour with the same and it might cause issues.
