Default Scooby's in Codemasters DiRT2

I don't think I'm going to get into trouble by saying that there are several Scoobys in DiRT2, so I thought I'd share a photo of one of the cars we recorded for the engine sounds.

Previous Codemasters games have used rather dated recordings for their engine sounds, but joining the company half way throught GRID I highlighted that we needed to upgrade both the engine playback system, and the recordings that system used.

Thankfully, Codies are commited to this, so here's one photo of many. We recorded this one as part of 12 in a two day session in LA at an air-strip, recording dynapak and on-road recordings.

Nice one. Are you recording exhaust notes too?

Yeah, recording points in the engine, cabin and exhaust. We're mainly recording on the track but hired a dynapak too just in case the weather was bad.

Looking at a September release. Got another recording session booked later this month

Many Imprezas will have equal length manifolds, so theyll sound like any other four cylinder car: but the more standard version could do with a little rumble...
