Default jailbreaking ipod

Who has jailbrokem thier ipod touch ??? I'm thinking of doing it so I can add some apps I have downloaded but I'm not sure how safe it is on these newer ipods ??

I'd suggest reading this. It details the current state of play in regards to Jailbreaking and Unlocking 2G/3G iPhones and 1st and 2nd Generation iPod Touch. Obviously unlocking only applies to the phones.

The bottom line seems to be that if you have a 1st generation iPod Touch then it can be jailbroken using QuickPwn. If it's a 2nd generation Touch then at present, you're out of luck as it cannot currently be jailbroken, but the dev-team are working on it.

Someone was obviously listening to you, as a hack has just been announced: Dev-Team Blog

Now if they can only do the iPhone 3G with 2.30 firmware....

It is 2.2.1 with the modem firmware at 2.30 (As opposed to 2.28). You can't unlock 2.30 and I have TurboSim but it is unreliable.

Yes you can if someone hadn't already updated using iTunes as you cannot downgrade the modem firmware once that has been done.
