Default iPhone 3g Unlock help

Arg ... the iPhone that I have just received has got the latest 2.30 modem firmware which means it is a pain to unlock.

Has anyone used the Rebel SimCard (where from?) or can recommend an alternative?

Thanks,

Steve

I'd seconded Jack's advice. They should, eventually come up with an updated yellowsnow that will unlock 3G's that have the new baseband on them. I have read a few things on hackintosh saying that using sim card modifiers could cause more problems than they fix.

Thank you. I have that site as well as the developers on Twitter!

I have just ordered the TurboSim. I have no idea whether it'll work or not, but as it was £5 from eBay including postage then not much to lose if it doesn't work (well, assuming it doesn't actually break the iPhone, but that seems unlikely).

Surprisingly the TurboSim worked. So it is now unlocked on T-Mobile with the 2.3 modem firmware (and 2.2.1).

For those of you interested, you can now downgrade the modem firmware in order to unlock the 3G iPhone. Here: iClarified - iPhone - How to Downgrade Your iPhone 3G 2.30 (2.2.1) Baseband for Unlock

Thanks for that Steve. The baseband updates were always the problem with the unlocks, as the exploit makes use of something in there. What is the latest baseband version anyway?
